QuestLeadership seeks students who have proven themselves to be hardworking, capable, and motivated. We strive to find those students who go above and beyond—who, in addition to being intelligent, dedicated, and honest, are also authentic, altruistic, reflective and passionate.
The QuestLeadership application process is designed with two purposes in mind—first, to allow our staff to get to know as much about each applicant as possible and, second, to allow each applicant to gain experience with the college application process. The process begins with an extensive online application. It is designed not only to look and feel like a college application, but also to help you reflect on your experiences to date, and on what matters most to you.
Following the application deadline, the admissions staff spends weeks processing and reading applications. In March and April, 350-400 semi-finalists are selected and invited to attend a Leadership Conference and Interview.
Even if you are not invited to an interview, there are still many opportunities available to you through the Quest application process. In 2004, due to the great potential of so many of the applicants to QuestLeadership, we created a new initiative, QuestBridge, to offer more opportunities to those students we are unable to accept for the summer program. With the same application, you can now choose to be considered for college scholarships as well as early admission (with excellent, and often full, financial aid) to top colleges. In 2004, for example, 33 students were paired with full, four-year scholarships to Williams College, Amherst College, and Rice University, as well as to four other highly selective colleges. This year, we will be adding partnerships with scholarship programs, internships, other summer programs, and more. All of our services are offered free of charge to applicants.
