The QuestLeadership application process is designed to be an educational one, and to provide an opportunity for students to learn both about themselves, and about one another. While the application tells us a great deal about each individual, we believe that the opportunity to get to know each semi-finalist personally, as well as for applicants to get to know our program and staff, is essential. Quest has held personal interviews for semi-finalists to the QuestLeadership summer program since its inception, and we are always striving to improve our process and to make it more beneficial to applicants.

In 2004, we expanded the interview process to also include the QuestLeadership Conference. This conference provides a series of workshops designed to prepare students for the college and professional world. Students also gain the opportunity to interact with other semi-finalists, sharing ideas and establishing a strong network. The first Leadership Conference was met with overwhelming praise, and we will continue to build on this success in the coming years.

A group of finalists is generally selected two to three weeks after the Conference and Interviews. Students who are not selected for participation in QuestLeadership are still eligible to participate in our QuestBridge program, which matches them with other opportunities across the country.
