One of the largest reasons that Quest Scholars have such a high college graduation rate (99%, compared to a national average of 50% for low-income students) is the academic support services available to them. Because each Quest class is small, we are able to provide significant individual attention, and to invest heavily in our students.

Many of our students are the first in their families to go to college, or to attend an elite four-year university, and that the process can seem intimidating. Similarly, many of our students do not have the professional connections of their college peers. For these students, Quest can provide assistance with summer internships, career paths, etc.

Examples of the services we provide include:

  • Academic counseling in selecting courses, and setting a four-year undergraduate plan
  • Mentorship and advice about selecting a major/minor
  • Advice for students wishing to take time off from school (to study abroad, gain work experience, etc.)
  • Financial aid consulting
  • Career path advice
  • Recommendation letters for employers or graduate study
  • Internship and job matching services
  • Resume writing workshops, and support through the job search process
  • At Stanford, a mentor program is available through the Quest Volunteer Organization to match student with local professional mentors
